In the previous post, I said to you how to install and setup our packet tracer software. So today I discuss with you how to connect two computers in our workplace using copper cross-over in cisco packet tracer software.
First, we added both computers to our workplace. After that, we can connect our copper cross-over cable between two computers. We can simply choose it. See the picture below.
Well...Now we have finished creating our small network.
But we can't share files and other detail between these computers😏😏. Why did I say that? We did not add IP addresses to either of these computers. I said that when we create a network, we need an IP address to connect the devices in that network. If so now we can add the IP address to this computer. How do we do it? see this image. That is a very important point.
First, click on PC0. After that, a windows will open as shown in the diagram below.
In the windows that open like this, we need to select the Desktop Tab. Then a window will open again as shown below. From that, we have to click and open the "IP Configuration" Tab.
After clicking on the IP Configuration Tab, we can use the window that opens to add the IP Address to our PC0.
See the image above. I have used a Class "C" IP address. So in this way we can give an IP address to our PC1 as well.
I'm using the 192.168.1.10 IP Address for PC1.
Now our network is complete. Now we can share files between our two computers.
You can use the ping command to see if the connection between the two computers has been established.
We can use the Ping command in the Command Prompt on the Desktop Tab.
What we need to do there is to type ping 192.168.1.10 with the IP address of the computer we want to connect to.
See the diagram below.
If so, I will stop today with the hope of joining you like this one day.
