An exploratory journey of finding information in the modern age of technology

Introduction to Cisco Packet Tracer

By now our friends know what we are talking about under the topic of Practical Labs. So as mentioned earlier we need to have a good understanding of Practical knowledge, especially as someone in the Networking Field.

I'll tell you this to help you understand this a little more. When we want to write an article, we create our article using Microsoft word. Think this one, Now we want to design our network diagrams so, we can use software to design our network diagram.

Here I am talking to you about Practical knowledge A-Z. So we need some software to do this job. We need Cisco Packet tracer software to create network diagrams. We can go and download that software here.

That software I will talk to you about from time to time. Let's learn how to work with packet tracer software now.

I think you have already downloaded and installed the Cisco Packet Tracer software. If you have such an installation, you can now open it. When you open it, you can see that the software opens as shown in the diagram below.

We need to build our network in the context we see. Here we can create network diagrams as shown in the diagram below.

Before that let's see how this works. And how to make the settings the way we want.

First, let's see how to design a simple network.

The simplest network I use is a computer, a switch, and a router. Even there I'm not going to talk to you in-depth about it step by step because we have to talk about this.

Look at the image above. In it, I have mentioned the Network Devices / End Devices / Components and Connections that are required to design our Network. So we can select the Devices required for our Network and design the Network.

At the same time, we have one more thing to do to make the ports visible when we design our network. Don't think too much about why. For now, let's just keep in mind that ports need to be made visible. All we have to do is at the top there is a tag called "Options". When we go to it we can see another option called "Preference". There it says "Always Show Port Labels in Logical Workspace" Now we can Enter the correct mark for it.

You can see it in the diagram below.

Until our next post, try and see how it works with this. Be sure to tell us if there is anything you do not understand.

Then we meet another day with a similar valuable lesson.

                                              ★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★

Good Luck
